Aug 31CDFI Bond Guarantee Program
Mercy Loan Fund recently signed on to this letter encouraging the House of Representatives to include a technical fix to the CDFI Bond Guarantee Program (CBGP) language in the upcoming 6-month Continuing Resolution that will allow the government to fulfill its financial obligations despite not passing a budget. The CBGP This language adds NO COST to the Continuing Resolution and would allow the CDFI Fund to continue implementing the CBGP. Without it, it is extremely unlikely that the Fund could make progress on the Bond Program this year. MLF has been active in promoting the CBGP, which would allow CDFIs to offer long-term financing through the issuance of government-guaranteed bonds.
