Live in Hope

Mercy Housing Mountain Plains Local Happenings

August has been a busy month for Mercy Housing Mountain Plains! This month, we hosted Live in Hope Midwest, a live virtual event that helped raise awareness and support for Resident Services programming and the Resident Relief Fund across our Midwest states.

The event included a 45-minute live program featuring a Q&A with Mercy Housing’s new CEO, Ismael Guerrero, followed by a conversation between Regional Director of Resident Services, Shelly, and Mercy Housing resident, Rosemary.

Thank you to our special awardees for their dedication and support of Mercy Housing Midwest.

Colorado Volunteer Day was also a bright spot in August. It was our first-ever virtual volunteering event, with over 50 volunteers joining from across the Denver Metro area to help support Mercy Housing.

Thanks to our amazing volunteers who selected projects from a list of activities they could do from the comfort of their own home. You helped gather school supplies that are so desperately needed, wrote letters of caring to our seniors who have been so isolated during this time, assembled activity kits for kids to help keep their busy bodies and minds active, and crafted individual herb pots to provide a fun way to add flavor to any meal.

After several weeks of preparing, we were able to see all these amazing projects and hard work on Volunteer Day, August 13th. Volunteers dropped off their completed projects and Mercy Housing staff delivered these thoughtful creations to residents.
