Many Thanks in Thank-uary

We are so excited to ring in 2021 with you and for the prospect of sharing a fresh start and new beginnings!

Before we look forward, however, we want to take a moment to reflect on the past year. So many of us were forced to navigate through unexpected challenges and hardships, as individuals, in our communities, and as a nation. Through it all, we saw people unite and the strength of communities rise to help one another. We were overwhelmed by the resilience we saw in Mercy Housing residents as many overcame significant obstacles and we were humbled by the outpouring of support from donors like you!

For the safety of all, the 2020 holiday season looked very different from years past. Although all in-person community celebrations were canceled, we were still able to provide residents a warm holiday meal with socially distanced food deliveries, as well as holiday gifts through our virtual donation drives.

City Councilman, Chris Herndon, dropped off holiday gifts with his son to Bluff Lake Apartments the Central Park neighborhood. He appreciated the opportunity to help support residents during the holiday season.

Thanks to YOU, we were able to spread that much needed holiday cheer to Mercy Housing seniors, families, and people with special needs across the Mountain Plains region. You showed up (virtually) with toys, household goods, winter clothing items, holiday treats, and much, much more, and they truly felt the love. Mercy Housing residents are feeling so very grateful.

Rachael is a resident at Aromor Apartments in Denver and was so excited to receive a handmade quilt for the holidays.

“I would like to thank you for the quilts. I chose one and it is beautiful. I can tell by the details that there was a lot of time put into making them. I thank you again for the time and effort it took in getting these gifts together.”
