Jun 06Building Stronger Communities Through Volunteers

Thank you to all the volunteers who joined us in our annual Volunteer Week! In addition to continuing this work in Colorado, we were excited to host our first Volunteer Week in the Southwest! This year we hosted over 15 activities with 60 volunteers at eight properties across Colorado and Arizona. We saw firsthand what generosity looked like as volunteers played games, made crafts, and got their hands dirty to help support Mercy Housing residents and our mission.

  • 2023 MHMP Volunteer Week 1
    Mercy Housing’s National Philanthropy Team kicked-off Volunteer Week by serving breakfast to Aromor Apartments residents.
  • 2023 MHMP Volunteer Week 2
    Mercy Housing Human Resources and IT team members helped clean out the computer lab at Aromor Apartments and helped get the space ready for a makeover.
  • 2023 MHMP Volunteer Week 3
    Brookfield Properties took on completing the community garden clean-up at Grace Apartments. The team helped clean out the remaining garden plots just in time for the residents to start planting!
  • 2023 MHMP Volunteer Week 4
    Bank of America (BOA) volunteers had a field day for kids at Grace Apartments. Literally.
  • 2023 MHMP Volunteer Week 5
    BOA also hosted a kid’s craft hour at Bluff Lake Apartments where the kids’ painted rocks and built robots!
  • 2023 MHMP Volunteer Week 6
    The BOA team hosted a field day where kids raced, jumped around and even tested their basketball skills.
  • 2023 MHMP Volunteer Week 7
    teers from AvalonBay helped wrap up a fun and successful Volunteer Week with breakfast at Aromor Apartments!

    Salt River Project (SRP) team members worked on painting colorful, new artwork to brighten up the halls of Lemon Grove.
  • 2023 MHMP Volunteer Week 9
    The Maricopa County Department of Health helped kick-off our first Volunteer Week in the Southwest by serving breakfast to Lemon Grove residents in Phoenix, Arizona.
  • 2023 MHMP Volunteer Week 10
    Alliance Construction cleaned the parking lot and got the playground ready for warm weather fun at Decatur Apartments!
