Jul 24Transforming Lives: How Housing Solutions Are Changing the Future for People with IDD
In June, alongside our partners at The Arc of King County, we held a special panel discussion and conversation about the dire housing needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The Arc of King County and Mercy Housing Northwest are partnering on Mercy Angle Lake Family Housing in SeaTac.
When this brand-new community opens this year, it will provide 130 affordable, energy-efficient apartment homes, nearly half of which will be two- and three-bedroom homes. Twenty-six of those apartment homes will be set aside for persons with IDD and their families. This special panel discussion provided an opportunity for community members and service providers to learn more about this partnership and our innovative approach to this work.
